I would not use the word 'features'. They are MUCH lighter, and performance is a LITTLE better. If you are gona use them with a budget or mid range rod, there is no point in going for the presso, as it doesn't feel that much better. But if you are matching it with a high end japanese rod, then u cant put Legalis or Ultegra because they are just too heavy.

Cork knobs are usually very fat. I cannot stand fat knobs on ultralight reels. But they have some carbon ones that i might try

@@ifishcatfish I don't know what you would consider as fat, but its the same size as old daiwa knobs that were used on all baitcasters and most spinning reels. Just google SLP Works RCS cork knob, and you will see their tickness.

1 layer of matte poly is not thiny and not slippery. U40 offers ZERO protection from anything, really. My rods with u40 developed holes after some time

@@ifishcatfish agreed but my bags are fabric so water would just get right in haha Oh I just caught an almost 11” Bluegill on the float yesterday, basically the same setup you have with the float. 6’ Presso, 23Legalis LT2000S-P but with 2lb flouro carbon. Fight was so good

how did u pick the Carabus of all the rods I have reviewed? This rod has never been in my Rod Buying Guide. Its a nice rod but the ones from my buing guide are nicer and have a tubular tip..

@@ifishcatfish over here in England, we are very limited in what's available, and a lot of what you recommend is either permanently "out of stock",, or very expensive,, the Carabus seems like good value for money, but I thought it had a tubular tip,, mine is the Extra Ultralight version, called the "Delicate" here,, and is rated at 0.8 to 4 grams.. (the lightest version they do at 1.8 metres..) All the best my friend,, (yes, we're metric over here, lol..)

@@John..18 XUL will DEFINITELY be solid tip. Presso AIR AGS is the only XUL with tubular tip, as far as i know..

no. I think the best reel for the Presso Air AGS is the Presso reel. Its a perfect match in terms of price and quality

@@ifishcatfish it's very doable with the 2000 sf.. with your type of knowledge and skill and not horsing in the fish it's very enjoyable with that set up. Just going to be a long battle if you hook up on a big carp or catfish 🤣 now that's sizes of fish the 2500sf is even too light🤣 only 5 grams difference... That rod is very nice for the price and matches very good with the 2000sf.. how's its balance ? To me anything 200 grams rod reel combo set up I'm not so concerned about balance since it's to light I can cast with my wrist all day 🤣 As a braid person I feel your pain 🤣 I love braid but it's not always the right choice 🙃 for your type of fishing a nice flor or mono will make that way more pleasing to fish.
